Jens Cajuste, that is massive 19:56 - Aug 7 with 1365 viewsitfcsuth

It cannot be understated how important that signing is, and how it changes the almost the entire optics of the window, and the squad shape up.

We’ve put together a partnership in Cajuste & Matusiwa which will be the absolute heartbeat and core of the squad for this season, and potentially many seasons to come.

Full credit goes to everyone involved, a remarkably, frankly outrageous piece of business.

On the eve of a new season, I am brimming with optimism, that we could have a very special season, and be building a very special team, Town 2.0.

Calm down everyone can’t help but mention his injury each time he’s mentioned despite him managing 30 odd PL games last season and him being top of KMcks wanted list. I’m with you though, top talent in that position in the league. Should be a massive signing but still more depth to add on top of that.

I wonder who KM will ask Mark Ashton for his birthday next year. Last year he asked him for Omari Hutchinson on a permanent, and this year he asked him for Jens Cajuste - both times, his wishes have come true and he's got what he asked for.

I do think the injury issue might be slightly overplayed at times and no real details are known about it. We've just committed to paying him some fairly hefty wages for the next 4 years (if we get promoted) so we must be reasonably happy that it's not something that's going to keep him out much.

When he first arrived there was talk about managing an ongoing knee issue but we steadily built his minutes through the season to where he was playing full 90 minutes. When he was out in Feb it was for a minor ankle issue that was completely separate.

Most teams swap out at least one CM during the latter stages of games, to get fresh legs into that area and have someone who has yet to commit a foul who can get stuck in without risking cards. Last season Morsy was pretty much unsubbable so Cajuste was the default option to take off even when he was fit to continue. I think this led to many continuing to take the view that he just couldn't see out a match when the swaps were more tactical rather than capacity related.

Poll: How many points do you think you'll need to get a ticket for Norwich?

Has always been my thoughts as well.

Beyond his late start last season with his knee issue, once he had caught to speed, he was almost ever present. The rotation after 70 minutes is over okayed, we rotate a lot of a forward thinking players, they get through an enormous workload.

Would be interested to see the stats from the 23/24 Championship season to see how we rotated Luongo and Taylor in games, vaguely remember we were doing it then between them two.

I'm delighted we got him. But I'm not sure the injury is overplayed. we just got him for €1mil + €6.5mil if we go up perm.

It's bizarrely cheap to be honest for ability. I think the injury is the only reason he hasn't gone to another Prem team.

Injury might be the wrong word. It's a knee issue he has to manage really. Glad we have him but I do think we need another strong CM signing to allow us to manage the minutes with no drop off

Poll: Who do we think McKenna (not you) will partner Greaves with ?
