When a club does well, fans interpret many things including the perception that there is more of a togetherness that when a team is not doing well. The feelgood factor cannot be underestimated.

I agree it would be similar about this crop, although the back-to-back was special and very much against the odds to finish 2nd in the Championship that season. There would certainly be a sense of it though, you could argue that spirit facilitates a successful side, but its also a consequence of one. If we go up this year people will be saying the same of X's last minute winner at X, and that night at home to X when player X banged one in from 30 yards and Palmer ran the length of the pitch to celebrate it etc. The bubbles in the changing rooms, Sheeran getting naked in his box.
