Sorry. Meant to reply not downvote. Was going to say, also at 19 surely has plenty of develop in him but also might not be a 100% starter so errors about the. Gamechanger element and us putting too much pressure on him this season.
Egeli on 10:14 - Aug 17 with 700 views | grow_our_own | ~17m is a lot of money for a 19 year old. We signed Hutch for around that much at 20, but after he'd proven he was Championship promotion standard. I guess this is the reality of our reduced circumstances. We must compensate for the lower pull-factor our Championship status confers with hard cash. I just wish the conveyor-belt of talent resumed through the academy. ITFC have never bought our way to top-flight success. We can buy success when we're a big fish in a small pond, eg L1 in 2022, but momentum stalls unless our teams include significant elements of home-grown talent.

Didn't Norwich trigger a 'secret' release clause for their new Danish superstar striker? It being secret or undisclosed because it was on the very low side(6 or 7 million quid or euros?). Anyway, they think they've got a steal until they discover they've got a wolfswinkel in sheep's clothing. [Post edited 17 Aug 10:33]
