It's OK. We know we've got half a starting 11 to come in over the course of the next couple of weeks that will help.
Some good things in the half. Some bad.
Annoying things for me are the gaping gaps in our midfield again. But also annoyingly is we keep getting the ball wide to clarke. Johnson then gets there as does Sammy. There is then a gaping hole in the middle with no town player in it with hirst in the box.
If Sammy is gonna tuck over then someone needs to take that position up outside the box.
Midfield. Taylor.. seems to want that 2nd touch ti control a pass into him.. a few very nervy moments. Southampton will target him.
All in all a battle again. We should really be two up. Hirst should have done better with his chance he had time to take another touch. Settle and shoot.
But with new players coming in and cajuste to come in I think we will be OK tbh. When you compare our previous games v southamton were on par with those performances imo.

Hirst should have laid it off to Clarke. Yes he gets past the final defender who stops to block the shot, but if he lays that off to Clarke instead of taking that extra touch before his shot, I reckon Jack buries it. |  | | |

Taylor never seems to be fully in control of the ball
Davis looking good and making good runs
Clarke looks better on the right (not hard, but credit where it's due)
Referee is beyond woeful, where do they find these people

I think Hirst did so much good work and running to get there he was out of puff when it came to actually shooting. Would've been a superb individual goal otherwise. |  |
