Better Help App 14:22 - Aug 20 with 886 viewsnrb1985

Hi All – I’ve been fortunate not to experience any particularly severe or prolonged mental health struggles. But like most people, can sometimes feel a touch blue with life’s ups and downs.

Has anyone here tried the Better Help app? I’ve spoken to therapists on and off over the years with mixed results – but it can be an expensive "hobby"!

The idea of a flat-fee and virtual on-demand model sounds appealing, so be good to hear if anyone’s had good (or bad) experiences with it?

If I were you, I would use someone accredited in the UK.

If you just want something for normal ups and downs then something like the calm app might be good.

I haven't tried it but if you want to talk anonymously and don't fancy talking to a human there is an AI therapy site called Abby. No idea how effective it is and be careful because AI can sometimes go rogue but might be an option.

Truly impaired.

Yikes! Thanks Dan, appreciate that.

Accredited is fine but the on demand aspect and subscription model is what appealed but the thought of them sharing my medical data is a bit much! Will avoid!

Thanks J2, actual looking at Abby that could work well.

It's more just learning some simple techniques to feel a bit more grounded, present, less anxious etc about certain things. So Abby looks like potentially a good fit.

If you want to know where we are headed, once we have sold all our data, and the tech bros know us inside out, well the latest from the mind of Donald J Trump is that the Smithsonian Museum puts too much emphasis on the negative aspects of slavery.

They've already bought your mind, now they are coming for your body.
