Carceres is a bit of a weird signing but I guess Woolf is off which means Humph stays and backs up Azor and Leif.
Strong persistent links to Lewis Cook as well which again seems weird. Hopefully we can persuade Hackney this time around, then like you say it’s 2 more attackers. Which would be an immensely strong squad for the championship and should get us up top two. |  |

Egeli would be a great signing as he can play CF as well as wide, and he doesn’t impact squad limits (albeit he could be considered a risk) he’d then fill the two forward roles you’ve highlighted. If we then get another CM, which I agree we need then I think Taylor might be on his way.

Keepers - would prefer someone more comfortable with the ball over Palmer and Walton
Full back - I think depending on Clarke’s fitness we are sorted. I think with Leif inverting this season Johnson looks pretty credible cover.
Centre Back - without losing Woolfie we are sorted so his departure needs to be contingent on getting a replacement in…be it Caceres who whoever.
Centre Mid - agree need Azor cover and ideally an 8. Maybe McDonnell from Liverpool on load as Azor cover and hopefully Hackney or Billing for the 8. That would leave us with 6 so would probably mean shifting Taylor as without Woolfie we need Humphreys as a club produced player.
Right Wing - sorted. Question about Burns registration if we end up with 26 trying to fit into 25.

9’s - is Akpom the Hirst competition/rotation? Either way I’m not sure he’s a proper target man. We need another of those.

Unless Walton has been given a genuine nod to suggest he could replace Palmer depending on form, I still think he might go the same way as the other L1 lads and look for regular minutes.
Already out of one cup and currently very much second choice. He could end up having effectively wasted three years of his career (for various reasons). |  |
