He is the best striker in the league.
Injury issues, yes. But when he is on the pitch he scores goals at a serious impressive rate, fast, can carry the ball, hold it up. Would be perfect for us unfortunately.

Norwich accepted 23M from Wolfsburg after rejecting 20M but personal terms weren’t agreed, also he scores goals when he’s fit, lots.

It just wouldn’t work. Even if we had a bid accepted and he decided to join, if he got off to a poor start or when his form dipped, we’d get all the “scum” comments etc. Andy Marshall was poor for us but it was amplified because every time he made a mistake, whether it cost us or not and some fans were on to him. He never stood a chance here. It would be the same with Sargent or any other Norwich player who joined us. |

One of the best strikers in the league would cost £20m is always injured and wouldn’t come to sit on our bench , we’ve just given Hirst a new contract and building things around him so it’s clear he is first choice this season so any other striker coming in will be an able deputy type for when his unavailable and not a prolific striker
In addition no signing from them to us has or will ever work out well it’s not possible |
He hasn't looked very injured when he's scored in every single one of their first four games this season, but OK.
I agree he'd likely be too expensive after the money we've spent on our wingers and reserve wingers. Shame we didn't prioritise a first class striker, but ho hum.
