5 days to make a number of key signings on 08:08 - Aug 26 by LegendofthePhoenix | because the transfer window is set up such that the biggest clubs can leave it to the last minute and the trickle down of available players for the smaller clubs can't happen until the big fish have had their fill and spat out the rest. |
Someone needs to explain this to Mark Ashton then, as he said by getting relegated early we can get all our business done nice and early.

5 days to make a number of key signings on 09:01 - Aug 26 by textbackup | Why post anything on here if that’s the case? I’ve seen 83848 trump posts, 73848 about Palestine, 7284894 about uk politics… but you dare mention the ITFC transfers situation on an ITFC forum and it’s frowned upon. |
Yeah but what evidence do you have to back that up?!!

5 days to make a number of key signings on 12:17 - Aug 26 by SlimTeaBoy | To fit in on here you have to be ante Trump, pro Hamas and very relaxed about the transfer policy, and also think that Ali is fine as a back up 9 I think that covers it |
This isn't really the thread to bring these things into but I don't think I have ever seen a post on this forum in favour of HAMAS, just many bewailing the current plight of Palestinians (many of whom have to suffer HAMAS in much the same way as a battered wife has to suffer a violent husband that conventions force them to live alongside.) Also I think many people around the World are anti-Trump and his policies but ante Trump means before Trump, which it is no longer possible to be. Looking on the bright side, a post Trump time is inevitable.

5 days to make a number of key signings on 11:40 - Aug 26 by WeWereZombies | But we blazed high and wide (apart from Taylor's added time shot which looked easy for the keeper) because teams like Preston do not give you time to settle on the ball. We are going to meet quite of few of them as the season progresses and our forwards need to be sharper. Such a waste of the two excellent crosses that Jack Clarke put in. |
Yes. But snap-shooting is a skill which can be trained and confidence built. It's the old thing about elite sportspeople being less physically and mentally overstressed than lesser mortals, thus having that extra fraction of a second to think and deliver. Someone like Haaland is pretty comfortable flying sideways between two defenders as the ball approaches his foot, therefore is more likely to get a shot on target. Salah is thinking so far ahead, he has already visualised where to run and what angle to kick. Our players, while not of that level, with their pedigree ought to have a similar advantage over the Championship average. But they need to remember that, not to fret over missed chances, to take the pressure off and use that (however marginal) superiority.

Yup. Said to some mates over the weekend that Szmodics is a presser whereas Chaplin is a creator & I know what I’d rather have from that role.

Depends on the opposition I think. Also, if Chaplin's passing and use of the ball is as poor as it was on Saturday then it doesn't make much difference.

Chaplin has had a pretty poor start to the season tbh. His game is all about spontaneity and quick use of the ball, which is excellent when it comes off (see the 2 promotion seasons!), but hugely frustrating when it doesn't.

Some people find this difficult to understand. I'm not why. The player we are likely in for don't get "released" until that team has cover | | | | Login to get fewer ads
