If you need a little inspiration early in the week, consider the Ironman athlete I saw yesterday (while volunteering at the hydration station). Bloke is in his 50s so doing a 3-mile swim, 112-mile bike ride and then a marathon is impressive enough in itself. But he was doing it with his blind daughter; he had a wrist strap to stay connected with her. Not sure how she figured out the swim and bike part of it, but fair play to them both.

Ran my first ultra in 2020. Now done multiple and setting my sights on going to the UTMB before I'm 50. Currently 41, with a decent enough index rating.

Ironman athletes are a different breed again. The guy from that first post is an absolute legend.

There was also a woman, in her 40s I’d guess, who for the running part of the race was pushing her disabled kid in a buggy type contraption. And had the kid in a small boat for the swim. Have to admire and respect the incredible effort these people put in. Phenomenal stuff.

The mention of undercarriage chafing had me wincing. Then the foot photo. Oh, that foot! Damn!
