Club developed player on 08:47 - Sep 13 by Pinewoodblue | This was discussed on TWTD recently with Phil saying there had to be a club developed player in the 25 player squad. Personally would be happier if could find this in black and white. Google AI, which I suppose is a glorified search engine, doesn’t agree with Phil “In the EFL Championship, clubs must include a "club-developed player" in their matchday squad, which is defined as a player registered with the club for at least a year before the end of their Under-19 season. Failure to do so results in the club being allowed to name only six substitutes instead of the standard seven or nine. “ If Google AI is right we broke the rules last night. |
ai is wrong, as it sometimes is

Club developed player on 08:23 - Sep 13 by NthQldITFC | I made the effort to read that so I understand you and others to be right. What I don't understand is why they talk about the Squad List OR the Team List. Shirley, to be in the Team List you have to be in the Squad List? OR am I barking up the wrong tree completely? Or completely barking? |
I agree, the wording in the EFL handbook appears to be a tautology. If you read the definitions at the beginning of the handbook, and look up Club Developed, I’d say this adds clarity. I’d copy and paste the relevant sections, but I’m away from home on my phone, so it’s non-trivial to do so For this referring to AI / bot responses, they’re wrong 😎
