In the winter months, have “floodlight failure” every 80 minutes when we are winning..

That's the thing, they couldnt' do the whole " if its not a clubs fault" thing as we could just organise with a nice brown envelope for the national grid to shut down a qtr of ipswich for an hour. wouldn't be the clubs fault....

Can't just play the last 10 unless they make everyone as unfit as they would have been at that time in the game after we'd just brought on our finishers, we could clearly see the effects Davis was enjoying down the flanks prior to the game being stopped, it was only a matter of time before we scored. having two fully fit sides for 10 minutes of football is pointless and goes against the reason for doing it anyway imo

Ordering anything other than a rematch would open a can of worms where a whole range of different decisions could be made in relation to future abandoned matches.

Part replaying the match is the least likely outcome I’d think. It’s either a Blackburn W or replay in full. To award the win to Blackburn you would think it would have to be beyond reasonable doubt that they were heading for the win. With a 1 goal margin and the best part of 20 minutes left I just don’t think you can begin to do that. No doubt it’s unlucky for Rovers, but if we have a game curtailed that early and it’s assumed a defeat it would be scandalous. Not happening.

You’ve also basically talked yourself into ruling out Blackburn getting the points. It’ll be replayed, just like it always has, because it’s the most palatable of a bunch of massively unpalatable options. The fact Blackburn couldn’t get the game done (with no others called off nearby) balances out their grievances. (Greavances.)

Must be a replay I'm not concerned on blackburns luck, They haven't won the game no one can say how it would have ended, It's there pitch and drainage system or lack of it there as culpable as anyone, So them crying wolf shouldn't be entertained,( but I wouldn't trust the powers that be)

Was thinking this earlier and agree. Whilst we’d have every chance of a point, three would be unlikely and it wouldn’t be worth the injury risk when your bear in mind you’d have 21 players ready to go all out for 15-20 minutes at each other. Add the logistics, probably no fans etc. Has to be a replay, it always has been before. You can’t award a result to a club that hasn’t fulfilled a 90 minute fixture and the only chance of coming back for 10 minutes sailed on the day.

If somebody accidentally, no fault of there own, and falls with the worlds biggest screwdriver on the fuse box or a chain saw (just testing) like Die Hard on 80 mins 1-0 it’s job done isn’t it. Nobody’s fault, points please. Two weeks later - sprinkler leak. Next - big lump of the old stand roof falls off. How about a few irradiated seagulls from sizewell by sheer chance flop onto the pitch dead. Game to us. The decision is an obvious one. Replay the Blackburn game.

One game was abandoned in the recent past with only about 10 minutes left to play (iirc) because of a medical emergency in the crowd. You did ask for jokey conspiracy theories. But sorry, on reflection my post can be considered in bad taste. I won’t edit just yet however, as it’d make this latest post of yours confusing. [Post edited 23 Sep 4:15]

Especially in light of Birmingham scoring two very late goals there, to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Just a few weeks ago.... Every week, games are turned on there head in the final 15 minutes.. The 1-0 can't stand as a result. And its impossible to replicate the exact conditions to play out the final 15-20 minutes. Sensible thing to do is to replay the whole game.
