I've got to give Palmer credit 10:47 - Sep 28 with 1166 views | tonybied | I've been a major critic of how awkward, slow, and ponderous he is in dealing with the ball at his feet when we're trying to beat the press by passing out from the back. Yesterday was a massive improvement from him. For me, that was the most comfortable match he's had trying to play this way. It wasn't for lack of the Portsmouth press either, they did try to get after him. He was much more confident, took the right option virtually every time, without dilly-dallying, and his quality of passing was much better. Hopefully, this is a sign that he has been working hard on this side of his game in training and that we see this becoming the norm.

Don’t remember seeing him do that before until yesterday. Also the 1-1 save he made was pretty good. I was saying before the game to my son I thought he was just an average keeper not much better than Walton but he certainly seems to have improved but in all fairness lots of players seems to have improved over the last few games.

Perhaps because its only the 6(7)th championship game we've seen him play, and only the 1st time he's looked a top keeper.

I've got to give Palmer credit on 18:57 - Sep 28 with 359 views | DJR | I've always rated Palmer. As regards playing it out from the back, it shouldn't be forgotten that we generally reverted to playing it long when he came into the team last season, presumably to ease the pressure. And this season, he has had to get used to playing it out from the back with a new line-up lacking people like Woolfenden and Morsy who were geared up to playing this way, and with a team getting to know itself. As regards his save yesterday, that was top drawer because I was directly behind him in the upper north stand, and thought it was almost certain the Portsmouth player would score from that position.
