have i missed something 19:10 - Sep 28 with 1562 views | jaykay | never been a season ticket holder just turn up pay on the gate or in later years purchased ticket on line. so yesterday was my first game since we were last in the championship. never seen so much security at the turn styles also at half time 3 security guards in each penalty area plus one on the centre spot. what are they there for. also didn't notice bluey has he been put out to pasture ?

have i missed something on 19:16 - Sep 28 with 1474 views | bluelagos | Heard from a steward that Bluey has been on the run, suspected of being a drugs runner for alqaeda. Def info. And the stadium security manager thinks the pitch needs protecting from the flask holding, blanket wearing fans in the Churchmans. Always thought they were wronguns tbh

But it is a fine line between dillegent checking and causing long queues that cause some to miss the start of the game. Some are checked some are not. Yesterday we were advised to remove all money, phones etc. I did n't but the machine did not go beep anyway. A pointless exercise.
have i missed something on 19:27 - Sep 28 with 1364 views | SitfcB | It’s OTT. The security on the pitch is a PL requirement, guess the club just wants to keep it going in preparation for next season Same as the searches I think. Just no need.

Fairly likely it comes down to the terms of public event liability insurance rather than league regulations this season.
have i missed something on 22:20 - Sep 28 with 815 views | Sarge | It’s a joke, and it takes fcking ages now to get in the grounds. The road behind the north stand was almost impassable yesterday because of the queues. You’ll get the usual lemons say ‘well this is the price we pay for safety’ but those people are naive.
have i missed something on 09:59 - Sep 29 with 421 views | RIPbobby | I think a lot of our fans are set in their ways on how they get in and from the ground. Everyone seems to take the Portman Road route and hardly anybody does the Constantine Road route away. But on the security I think it could be better achieved. Maybe there should be snaked barriers into the north so people can access on the pavement side.

It appears they have a barrier system into the Cobbold, so why not the North Stand. A large number of people arrive a the ground from the east and need to use the road behind the NS to access the gates for the West Stand (or whatever it’s called now) - a complete mess before the game on Saturday which cannot be completely blamed on people arriving late or using the “wrong” way to get to their point of entry
have i missed something on 10:16 - Sep 29 with 347 views | IH_KGF | Good Morning jaykay, I joined here to purely ask the questions around getting into the stadium, so I'll do so by piggy backing off your post if thats ok. Whilst I fully understood last season being rather challenging with the new PL rules we'd need to abide by, Saturday was terrible, maybe the worse I've witnessed. They have had 2/3 seasons now in order to find a workable solution to help the flow of traffic at the back of the North Stand, its borderline dangerous. The turnstiles nearest the Pioneer Stand should have barriers snaking in order to remove the build up of people lining up across the road to Aldeman Road. The security team monitor the flow of fans via CCTV for every home game, and they've seemingly completely overlooked this issue. The security team are just kids, they have no ability to effectively communicate with supporters, people aired their views, to be greated with a grunt and a ghostly look on the teams faces. I doubt an email to the club would even matter to be honest, as I say, they watch the crowds from the control room and have done nothing so far. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
