Jaden now v Omari then 06:33 - Sep 30 with 1339 viewsLen_Brennan

The way he is playing, the confidence, the quality of his finishing, the effort in his tracking back & the game winning significance of his performances, all make Philogene atm remind us of Hutchinson at his best towards the end of our Championship promotion season.
Seeing that it took Omari until March really before getting into his stride with his all round game, are we looking at Jaden being an even better player for us than he was?
Tbf to Omari, he was younger & less experienced, but still, it is fun to consider the overall potential of Philogene this season, & also to ponder what we would be like had Hutchinson stayed to offer the balance on the right side this season. Hopefully Egeli will develop the way he did.

I don't feel the two are comparable in that regard.

Jaden had a lot more professional/ first team football under his belt before he, finally, joined us. Omari was younger with no experience to speak of behind him (I think poss 1 game and some U21 games) when he joined.

I guess the expectation was/ is that Jaden would hit the ground running but he came into a team that was in the Prem and struggling, whereas Omari joined when the team were flying.

The main observation is that it looks like Jaden has found his feet with us and settled into the role now and is delivering what we expected he would. Omari was pure potential and delivered against that in the Champ and the Prem (albeit a lesser degree but he did still deliver).

I really don't know which one has the higher potential - I would say that Omari edges it. However, both have an awful lot to offer.

As stated in the post above it is hard to compare them. Jaden has had multiple seasons of mens football.

I like Jaden but in terms of playing style Omari I enjoy watching more. Faster. slightly more direct.

I still miss Omari, he was a joy to watch play. Imagine having him on the right (where we still don't seem to have a settled 1st choice) and Jaden on the left.

He was brilliant at the weekend when he came on for Forest put four great balls into the box two of them made excellent chances for Chris Wood sadly neither were converted .

KM didn't really seem to want omari on the right. He o ly really went there when burns got injured.

What we need is our 10 to work like chappers did with Burns in the champ season. Someone who can pick out those first time passes that blindside the leftbacks of the opponents.

If we can resolve that then the likes of mcateer may shine. As that's what helped make burns the threat he was when running down the flank.

They’re both exciting to watch. Seeing JP at full chat on Saturday did remind me of OH a bit. Hutchinson has higher potential in my view.

If he can stay fit, it’ll be interesting to see how much Philogene improves with McKenna and co’s coaching. Egeli has the potential to be better than both of them from what little I’ve seen of him. He’s got terrific vision for a player so young and finding his feet in a different country.

Jaden could go further as he seems to be able to use both feet where has hutch altho uses his weak foot i don't think he scores many with it.

I think we do have a settled 1st choice on the right, but it's two players, not one. Because of Walle Egeli's age and lack of experience, he isn't going to be a nailed on starter every game. But the alternate is fixed as McAteer. One will kick off, the other come on from the bench.

What happens when Burns is back fit, that is a different matter.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Comparison is the thief of joy.

Both quality players, but there's only 1 here with us now, hopefully he can build on this early season form and stay fit as there's no doubt, and has never been any doubt that he's a baller. He was the one I was gutted to see get away last summer and buzzing to see him join in Jan, hopefully now he's finally getting his Town career going and delivering what he's capable of.
