He and Szmodics look like they are lacking form. We have seen what form and confidence can do for Philogene and Clarke. Both are good players. That said, I thought Azon looked very good and I wouldn't be surprised for him to start ahead of Hirst. |  |

I thought he was decent today and had a great battle with their CBs, he’s just lacking a bit of confidence. I think his value to the team is more than goals though, and he’ll get into a decent patch of form soon.

True, Szmodics is another one like Hirst, both working their proverbial backsides off for the team but not quite happening for them.
What is a credit to them though is that they’re always showing for the ball and chasing everything.

Hirst's problem is in the promotion seasons he always had Chaplin in the No.10 role, near him to lay the ball off to. Szmodics in the No.10 role is often playing up front in a straight line with Hirst. Hence Hirst has to battle more to retain the ball before he can find a Town player
Hope Szmodics, or whoever plats No.10, can learn to play that actual position - it will come I'm sure. |  | | |
