throwing money doesn't work. How did we go from thrashing this lot 6-0 in L1 to losing to them 0-3 at home after a season in the PL and spending close to £150 million? We have the most expensive CB pairing in Champ history and it looks worse than a random L1 team, absolute rabbits in the headlights every time the opposition attacks. 2 former Champ golden boot players and yet can't score.
Where are those delusional happy clappers that say "we were buying for the Champ" and that McK was the untouchable messiah? The past few months has shown just the opposite. Same old like for like changes with no idea how to break the opposition down week after week. 7 wins in 48, 99.9% of the managers would have been sacked. How much more credit McK has, it must be running low. Today's performance was again toothless, with no sense of urgency.
Look at how parachute teams dominated us when we were last in the Champ. We aren't doing that to teams now. Even if we are on top in games like in the first half today we fail to test the keeper. All the useless sideways and backwards tippy-tappy is getting us nowhere and we have no clinical finishers at the moment, Philogene aside.
If questions are not asked we will be be sleepwalking back to L1. Or at least mid-table mediocrity. Whole team needs to wake up their blo*dy idea.
P.S. for those that are saying McK 2.0 needs time to "gel" I suggest you look at Sunderland in the division above us. Half their team are new, yet no "gelling" required to perform. [Post edited 21 Oct 22:10]

But spending money does work.., IF the right people soend it in the right ways.., it’s not spending that’s cost is.., it’s being so woefully poor at doing it!!!
Ashton and McKenna .., not only not elite.., but not even EFL elite or even close.
We have the makings of a great squad.., with the key pieces missing in terms of what actually makes a team at this level.
