I really do. It’s not the same. Even when we win, it’s not the same.
We effectively discarded a bunch of Ipswich legends (two promotions in two years from league 1 to the premier league is legendary whether it be us or any team), replaced them all with the championship all star XI and lost everything that made us great.
The team spirit. The fight. The characters. The leadership. The belief that we were never beaten. The second that 2nd Charlton goal went in, our lot didn’t wanna be out there. O’Shea isn’t going to galvanise them. Who stood tall and went ‘this is in acceptable lads. We can’t defend like that repeatedly’ after the first goal went in? Instead they continued to do the same. Charlton nearly scored a minute after the first goal went in from the exact same scenario as the first. And then did score from the corner.
I miss Burgess. I miss Chaplin. I miss Morsy. I miss Burns. I miss Donacien. I miss Mass. I miss our lads.
They’d have never ever ever in a million years shown as little fight as tonight’s lot did off the ball. Attacking wise was fine tonight and we did create stuff but defensively was nothing short of a shambles. And it would never have happened from the double promotion team. Even at premier league level they’d have defended better than that lot tonight did. |  |

We miss them because they won and they did it consistently.
I was starting to get that feeling for this team particularly after the derby on the back of a good run.
Don't forget pretty much all those lads were in a side we were ripping into in that first season they arrived.
But yes I do miss them haha. I trust Mckenna to build us back. |  |

Was a special group - I have a real frustration that we discarded that special team so easily, to replace them with Championship galactico individuals.
That group had something you can’t buy in the transfer market - mentality, connection and unity.
It leaves me speechless that such a top manager in KMc took the approach he did with that group, and then identified and built this group.
