House/Pet Sitters 09:10 - Oct 29 with 919 viewstommyboy1972

No not that sitters.
Booked a couple of weeks away in Dec and wondering if anyone on here has used a house/pet sitting service. Our dog is now 15 years old and I don’t want to put him into kennels anymore. Would much rather he stays at home with someone to look after him.

Tried a google but it keeps leading me to sites that want to pay to register. Feels like a scam although I could be wrong.

Now I like Sitters as much as the next forum poster but house him? Probably not.

As for petting him that's a definite no.

My Dad dog sits for a place called Barking Mad ( https://www.barkingmad.uk.com/

Honestly they seem pretty good. He needed to talk about his history with dogs, his house was checked to be safe etc, and now he looks after the odd dog for a week here or there.

Given your dogs age you might prefer a service where the dog can stay at your house, but this might be an alternative.

I know a lovely couple who live in the East Midlands who do it now they have taken early retirement. They do it through a website, though don't know which one offhand, and so have reviews/ratings on there.

Whereabouts are you? What dates are you after? They are coming to stay with us in a week or so, I would be happy to let them know if you want me to.

My little girl Jack-Chi is 15, I use an app called Rover. I’m in Felixstowe, a girl from town answered my request, stays over when I’m away. Just change the bed, I supply guest towels , place is hers. She’ll strip the bed off before she leaves, washes up, all good. I’ve got a Ring doorbell, so no uninvited guests turn up, dog loves the attention!

Reach out to a local dog rescue and see if they have anyone they would recommend.

Yeah qe use a cat sitter often. We found a good reliable one but there are directory websites you can use or do a seafxh on your local area Facebook group. Just for ref, we pay 15 per half hour visit in london. Think my mum pays more like a 25 but thats central london.

Has anyone ever looked at their own postings for last day or so? Oh my... so sorry. Was Ullaa
