| Cheese Spread 14:25 - Nov 15 with 545 views | Churchman | Now we all love Dairylea don’t we? Well, I did as a kid and actually there are actually worse things to eat. But is it cheese? Anyhow, there is a tub of that seriously strong spreadable cheese in the fridge so gave it a go the other day. On its own with butter and fresh bread, it was tolerable, but not the best really. A poor imitation of lunch. So today, experimental upgrade time: 1. You take your fresh artisan baguette (white, not peasant bread). 2. Slather good quality butter on both sides 3. On one side, a plastering of sandwich spread, on the other the same depth of cheese spread. 4. On the bottom layer (doesn’t matter which way up) lay down a carpet of ready salted crisps. A good thick layer. 5. Place the lid on top and crush down - not too hard but sufficient to crush the crisps to make the baguette gob sized.. It works. The cheese spread and sandwich spread hold the crisps so no mess and you get a savoury tangy baguette with a balance of flavours to tickle the taste buds that leaves you wanting more. I thank you. | | | | |

I don’t think I’ve ever tried that (knowingly). I’ll give it a go!!

| We have no village green, or a shop.
It's very, very quiet.
I can walk to the pub. |

Substitute the hard boiled egg for scrambled egg 👍

Pick it up. Remove from the bag. If you do other things with a baguette, well that’s your choice. It’s a free country.

I only like marmite on twiglets. As an alternative, Worcestershire Sauce or Hendersons will work. Must try it.
