Watching town is so frustrating right now 15:27 - Dec 1 with 285 viewsMartus

The last few games feel so frustrating, it just feels as if we just keep doing the same things and not changing it up. We always try to cut inside and then get crowded out.

Our best times in league one and championship was seeing Leif and Burns go on the.outside. With our no.10 hovering on the edge on the area.

Now we just keep playing slow and getting our wingers to cut inside and get crowded out. The no.10 position just isn't working and a creative no.10 is needed. The one thaf springs to mind is O'Hare from Shef Utd - a creative player who can make use of the ball in tight spaces.

We seem to be found out - and while we are still gelling as a team, there are serious problems with the forward line.

"...there are serious problems with the forward line."

I don't think your main observations are wrong but I don't agree with the above.

Yes, we are not converting the chances created as well as we should but 'serious' problems is overstating it but a big margin.

EDIT: If we were lying 15th, with a negative GD, then maybe. But we are 8th with a game in have and the 3rd best GD in the division.

Our last 7 games we've won 4, drawn 2, and lost 1. That's 14 points (2 PPG) from that run of games. We can still improve and I'm confident we will but things ain't all bad.

I think the big frustration is that the aim of this season wasnt just to get promoted, but to get promoted and be in a stronger position than we were last time we did it.

We are doing OK, and MIGHT creep up into 4th IF we win tomorrow.

We are miles behind Coventry who we should be benchmarking ourselves against.

Staring December in 8th is not where we wanted to be, but we are still in the hunt for 2nd.

Things are just OK, but could / should be better.

I still think KM can improve us, and here's hoping.

(Remember how much stick we gave the parachute teams last time we were in this division, and how easy it was with their squads and budgets?!). The narrative has swung, thats for sure.

Do you not think we have relied on individual screamers from Philogene and Clarke? Whereas in the double promotions we scored so many well worked goals - the kind of goals that were worked on in training?

It's not all gloom and doom. We are still in the fight for promotion. But I guess we have been spoiled under Mckenna - but our attack isn't a slick, well oiled machine that it once was

I think we miss Morsy - no one goes and collects the ball, protects it and moves it forward like Morsy did.

But the front 3/4 really feel disjointed and lacking the intensity and creativity needed

I guess part of the frustration is that we haven't been a good KM team for 18+ months now.

Understandable in the Prem, but we should be doing better this season.

Still plenty of time for KM to get it right though.

....and Hladky in this league. He wasn't perfect, but was a major part of how we played.

I wouldnt be averse to going big on a keeper on Jan.

That’s probably a fair point tbh.

Yeah that's true too - the play started with Hladky and how calm we kept the ball and played the right pass.

I know its early days with this new town team - but it doesn't work like the others. I hope it clicks soon - but I've said that since August

You've used the word 'serious'. It's that I've disagreed with.

I've actually said your observations are wrong. Why the word serious?

Surely serious would be converting almost no chances?
