I pretty much knew what to expect given the IOPC upheld 3 of my complaints against the WMP and rejected 3 against the SYP. So many inconsistencies in their approach, here's just one example. Bettison put together a video about Hillsborough that he showed to MPs at Westminster as the SYP fought to undermine the findings of the Taylor report. He used pictures of dead fans, one family member I know complained that the pictures of her dead father, with his pants round his ankles was used in that video without her knowledge or consent. The video was used to undermine the Taylor findings and to portray fans as responsible. Her complaint to the IOPC was rejected. As were multiple complaints about the WMP quizzing fans about alcohol use and the IOPC upheld 41 complaints against WMP officers yet concluded they were not pert of the cover up. They did the bare minimum at every stage and imho.are little more than complicit in that they legitimised so much of what the WMP and SYP did. So yeah, the police got another kicking but no accountability and should have been much more of a kicking.

| Have we.done the SYP Fed statement? on 06:24 - Dec 5 with 308 views | ITFC_Forever | Yes, absolute scum. The comments under the statement sum up every normal person’s reaction to it. Unfortunately, as one person has put it, the campaigners have been vindicated, but unfortunately will never receive justice. Where does the situation go now BL? Or is that it, the end of the line and the fact those responsible will forever have to live with 97 ghosts haunting them until the day they die? | |

Think that's pretty much it for most people. Some attempts to get Bettison's knighthood and QPM removed which I suspect will happen. Far more important is the passage of Hillsborough Law through parliament. Near unanimous support in parliament I did a submission to the committee not that it mattered, they had plenty. Heard a rumour Dan Hannan of Brexit infamy may put some spoilers in when it goes to the HoL but even so. a huge majority and that it was a manifesto commitment limits what any bad actor can do. Whether the duty of candour will have a positive impact only time will tell. Am told it has teeth but then the duty of candour in the NHS seems to carry little weight. But I do think that's pretty much it. Those responsible for killing 97 and for the cover up are left to their consciences (like they have any) but history will show the scum they are. Sadly actions like those of the Police Fed this week tell me the Police retain a fundamental inability to admit when they mess things up. But I never bought for a minute they are fundamentally better. Protecting their own is second nature and has always come before truth and justice. .Nothing different from what I can see.

Their long-term interests would be better served by acknowledging the wrong-doing and working to make sure this kind of thing (and the other examples of police conduct since) never happen again.

The Police Fed rep Middup was named in the report for spreading lies to the media. He was the most vocal in 89 appearing on many news interviews. Got taken to pieces at Warrington, told he was practically in tears by the end of his cross examination. He is a particularly vile piece of sh1t up there with McKenzie, Ingram, Duckenfield, Sumner and Bettison. No shame any of them.

I wasn't aware of Middup until I saw a clip from 1989 in a Hillsborough documentary over ten years ago. Once seen never forgotten. His legacy continues in the Fed.
