Can’t believe the amount of Coventry whinging on this, why ruin a perfectly decent match by sending him off for possibly kicking the ball away ? I can’t see many refs doing that. There has to be a higher threshold for a second yellow than that.

The first yellow was a joke anyways.

The only Muff in Town.

I think George can consider himself a very lucky boy.
In some ways I think the first yellow has saved him.
If he didn't already have one I think the ref would have shown him one for that incident.
You can see from the footage he heard the whistle and took the shot in frustration.
For what it's worth, I'm so glad he got the benefit of the doubt and went on to score.
He's been getting pelters for a while now and there's nothing like a goal to improve a striker's confidence.
I was so pleased for him.

Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness.

That was my take once I’d had the chance to think about it after the game, although I was worried at the time.

I’m not sure of the exact rule - hopefully something on here can clarify, but wasn’t Walton’s handball more of a red card? Don’t think Lampard even mentioned it, so may be Im wrong

Walton's was definitely not a red card. It was on the edge of the area with defenders all around him and he actually had time to step back into his box before handling it. Except he didn't so he was booked for deliberate handball for actually losing his bearings. It was definitely not preventing a clear goal-scoring opportunity. Which will be why Frank wasn't complaining about it.

It was absolutely another yellow, mainly because the ref had set a precedent. It would have been harsh, but it's the law.

Had it been Simms we'd have been going apesh1t and rightly so. I thought the ref was all over the place with his decision making and if I was him I'd be a bit worried about my assessors thoughts.

It's nice we got away with it for once, instead of feeling hard done by.
