For the modern alpha male providing for his mate and offspring, when wild animals with your bare teeth is not an option as it’s a bit chilly outside, is there anything more fabulously useful than the air fryer?
If you haven’t got one, buy yourself one for Christmas. They’re life-changers.
And if you own one and have been tempted to pull it apart to see how they work, no need as the BBC has all you tech geeks covered, via the aptly named Hannah Fry:
We told you this years ago mate. They are brilliant.
I can't remember the last time I put the oven on.
I have had one for well over a year in fairness, so I’m not that far behind the curve. Less than usual anyway lol.
Very handy aren’t they. It’s an easy one for me tonight, just smashed spuds. But that’s effectively roast potatoes in a third of the time. It’s genius.
Certainly not having one of those new fangled things in the house.
Then again back in the day, we were all made to stand outside when the microwave was on and listen for the ding. After the scare stories in the Sunday's about leaks cooking people's insides. That didn't last long either. True tale !

I remember that, it was very real. People were treating their microwaves like dentists administering an x-Ray 🤣
Love Hannah Fry, especially her new podcast with Vsauce, sorry Michael Stevens!
Oh, and I love this guy too - if you want to nerd out, he's yer man!
That’s great. He’s not wrong of course. Air fryers are just normal ovens but with relatively oversized heating elements and fans.
I’m bored, so I just measured my air fryer and oven.
Air fryer volume: 10,800 cm3 Wattage: 1900 W = 1.84074 W/cm3
Oven volume: 69,200 cm3 Wattage: 3,000 W (estimate of a Google search as I don’t fancy pulling it out of the wall for this) = 0.0433526 W/cm3
So the air fryer has a watts to volume ratio that’s 42.46 times that of a convection oven. No wonder I can crisp my spuds easier. And the air movement is greater than in a conventional oven, so the cooking efficiency will be well over 42x.

Sorry to say your first sum has misbehaved, works out as 4 times, but that's a ruddy good number still.

I can sense your excited anticipation swanners, at being asked at work tomorrow morning, what did you get up to over the weekend?
