Regular keeper for my early seasons at Town. Ken Hancock was still there when I first went but was soon replaced by Best. My "best" memory of him was when we played Man U and Bobby Charlton fired one his thunderbolt shots. Best just smothered it in his midriff and carried on as if nothing had happened, leaving Charlton shaking his head in disbelief.
(It might have been when we beat them 4-0)
Also the scenes at Lazio when Trevor Whymark ran the length of the pitch to hide behind Best. Reunited in Blue Heaven
RIP David

Laurie Sivell was our regular keeper when I first started going but I still recall David Best being held in high esteem. R.I.P.

My first keeper was Roy Bailey, but David Beat remains my favourite bar none.

He always used to hang on the crossbar before the game started.
