Brian Deane - I'd forgotten he played for Leicester. I remember us unjustly winning this game with late goals from Gaardsoe & Ambrose. The Sky cameras focused on a Leicester supporting kid crying into his Xmas gloves.

My first ever away game was at Filbert St. 1-0 win. 1989.
And I think one of my first home games was against them and they’d been awful results wise until we ended up drawing 0-0 …. I was so disappointed expecting a cricket score.

Just checked it was October 83 … I’d actually started going to Portman road a year before that … just seemed very early on in my addiction to the town.
Interestingly the Tuesday before that Leicester game we played a friendly !! Away !! against the Israel Olympic XI !!

looking at that line up I'd agree Marcus Bent would have been better in goal than Andy Marshall
I recall a 1-0 win at Filbert Street, September 1988. Dalian Atkinson with the winner.
My sister lived in Leicester. Her and her boyfriend had a flight to Hong Kong the day of the game, so having travelled with a friend, we had her place to ourselves. Needless to say, having just turned 16, we acquired a few bottles of cider before getting absolutely hammered.....followed by my first hangover and a cleaning up exercise the following morning...
One of my first long distance away games with my school age mates, and without adult supervision was Leicester 67/68, 3-1 win at Filbert St. We'd just been promoted to the old division one. Cannot remember if we trained or bused it there, but recall it bucketed it down all day and vivid memories of Danny Hegan's pile driver unless anyone else remembers something different.
