| Dark energy reassessment suggests the universe may end in a Big Crunch after all on 17:37 - Dec 28 with 435 views | stonojnr | I dont think we know enough about time/space/gravity to be confident asserting anything with any certainty about the universe. just look up the ladder paradox, you can bend seemingly immutable physics simply by travelling near the speed of limit and observing things from different frames of reference. so how the hell they can conclude anything about distant galaxies with light travelling at the speed of light from them, from only one frame of reference. this is the reason "dark energy" even exists, because we clearly dont have enough understanding of how the universe works, we have ended up with a remainder on some maths we did, and we dont know what that means other than weve probably got the maths wrong somewhere, even if it explains 99% of our observable life. someone explained it to me once like imagine the old 2d arcade games is the limit of our knowledge of the universe, but actually we live in a 3d arcade game universe, that we're interacting with but only still in 2d graphics. so we can still move around our perceived universe normally to us, it all still works, occasionally things glitch that make us think maybe theres more to this, but until we work out the how to draw a 3d cube part, that 3d universe is totally hidden from us. |  | |  |

I've always found that the best approach is to accept that I don't know anything about anything. Leaves one open to new ideas with the unfettered ability to not understand them at all.
