See his loan has been terminated again. Really not had a good time in the past few years.

No surprise. He was poor last year and atrocious in our 5-0 drubbing of Sheff Utd this season. That was one of the worst performances I’ve seen since Mark Fish.

An absolutely woeful signing for us last season - I do wonder what's happened there, as he was fantastic for them up the road and was even good at Everton in the majority too!
It looked at one point like he had an international future with England, now I'd be surprised if he had a future in the Championship.

Someone mentioned he may have long Covid

It's well documented. Feel for him.

I was completely unaware of this, i've also just read the link someone else posted- thank you both for sharing.

It's of particular interest to me, because a couple of weeks before the first lockdown, I and my at the time few months old son were incredibly sick with Covid, I feared for mine and my son's life at the time-
hospitals wouldn't take us and we were left to fend for ourselves essentially.

I was a healthy man in my early 30's, played football a couple of times a week, went to the gym reguarly, did the odd 2k park run- my life's never been the same since.

I now have daily non epileptic seizures, I have heart condition, chronic fatigue, regular aches and pains that I have no real explanation for and never previously experienced - it's been life changing, so to read of a professional athlete battling through symptoms is very interesting. I saw the previously highly rated youngster Reece Oxford has all but retired, with long covid being mentioned surrounding his circumstances too.

It bugged the hell out of me when people went on about it "only effecting old people or those with existing health conditions" - I was probably the fittest I'd ever been in my life when it hit me.

Really feel for Ben and anyone still effected.
