How many times did we break up their attacks, leading to a chance, a goal on the case of Taylors to Clarke. Happened again and again, and also winning it back, kept them pinned in their own half in the first period, where, if not for a great save, we'd have deservedly gone into half time ahead. The home crowd could sense we were bullying them a bit.

I wonder. Maybe Burns is the catalyst? You could see the joy in every player - whether long-time team mate like Taylor holding Burns' name on his shirt to the crowd, or any one of the 'new' lads looking almost ready to burst into tears of joy because Wes had scored. There was a comment from someone about Wes having been a bit of a captain off the field in the last few months - I think Leif has been a real leader too - and maybe we just needed that little bit more connection back to that incredible team ethos of Morsy-Chaplin-Burns-Donacien-Davis-Luongo-Harness-Hirst-Edmundson (sure I've forgotten some other obvious ones) which even the new players will have seen when watching videos before and after signing. Maybe the desire to replicate that spirit in the new team has been an added pressure in itself, and maybe Burns eases that enough for it to really happen now?

I genuinely thought it was the best performance all season. Had that Taylor shot gone in, we may have gone on to score a few more too. Loved seeing Kipré playing up top so often, and reverting to his old position as a striker. 🤣🤣
