He was effective tonight because Chelsea played how we played last season; defend deep and have Delap hold the ball up and play off him on the counter attack.

KM didn't. When we were under pressure and we lumped it up to Delap, he gave far too many free-kicks away. You need your outlet to hold the ball up or win a fre kick or throw-in. Not allow it to be pumped straight back at us from a free-kick. We were willing to turn a blind eye for a few moments of pure genius. He was by-passed by England even when he was playing at his best. I told my Chelsea mates what they were getting and they thought I was being bitter because they'd stolen him from us. | | | |
