| Delap with yet another senseless yellow card on 20:41 - Jan 4 with 943 views | Wickets | I'm amazed that some posters cannot see Liam did the job he was sent on to do . He unsettled the City defence, Chelsea would of course take his yellow for the big part he played in the draw they got after looking out of it until he came on . | | | |

| Delap with yet another senseless yellow card on 22:50 - Jan 4 with 795 views | ClareBlue | There's enough opposition players in Premiership that will con a ref to get you a yellow without getting one for losing your cool. The aggression and physicality doesn't trump playing with 10 men. He's on borrowed time if he doesn't sort it out quickly. | | | |

He's not a thug. Trying too hard to get recognition in a bloated squad.

He was effective tonight because Chelsea played how we played last season; defend deep and have Delap hold the ball up and play off him on the counter attack. When Chelsea have the majority of the ball, he hasn't been great, unfortunately.

| Delap with yet another senseless yellow card on 20:06 - Jan 4 by baxterbasics | It's not beyond the realms of possibility if he doesn't start scoring for Chelsea. They might be happy to take a small loss even to get him off the books. Only question is - could we do better than Delap? Also will KM be able to develop the better Delap and supress the amateur wrestler side? |
I enjoy a drink on a Sunday too but to think "could we do better than Delap" whilst in the Championship is beyond daft. Glad you've clearly had a good day though. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

KM didn't. When we were under pressure and we lumped it up to Delap, he gave far too many free-kicks away. You need your outlet to hold the ball up or win a fre kick or throw-in. Not allow it to be pumped straight back at us from a free-kick. We were willing to turn a blind eye for a few moments of pure genius. He was by-passed by England even when he was playing at his best. I told my Chelsea mates what they were getting and they thought I was being bitter because they'd stolen him from us.

To clarify, I didn't mean whilst we are in the Championship, I meant in the summer should we go back up and if Chelsea are feeling unsatisfied with their purchase. So a couple of if's there.

Indeed, but they didn't need to pay £30m for what Liam's giving them, they could have just dragged a pissed nutter out of the local and stuck him in a strip :)
