Great result today and some good things on the pitch, but watching today only strengthens the case for a new striker, which we all know anyway.
It strikes me that this Championship season is unusual because of the number of poorly performing ex-premier league teams (Soton, Foxes, Sheff Utd etc). Just wonder if we might be bold and try to offer for one of their more prized possessions. Play offs at best for each of them, and realistically look like they may all probably fall short of that. Personally, I'd like to see what McKenna could do with either Adam Armstrong or Cameron Archer, and Soton generally appear to be a squad full of talented but underperforming players who could be available. |  | | |  |

We need competition up top 100%.
But it's not like we are Blackburn. Who look utterly bereft as an attacking team.
Today was interesting...we could have scored 6 but ultimately it would still have only be 3 pts. The argument is there are times when, if we were 10% more clinical more games would be dead or buried.
There's a big big difference between not creating or scoring as a unit and where we currently are.
I'd argue cover for Matsi is more important than a striker.

I wouldn't panic, still 16 days left of the window, though obviously the earlier the better, but it often just doesn't work out like that, especially in January. Better to make sure we get it right, even if it takes a few extra days. Add to that a creative midfielder to fill the hole vacated by Nunez, and it will be some side that derails us! | | | |

Why would Southampton sell to us and, even if they did, how much over the odds would they charge?
A better striker would perhaps be nice, but we don't need one. Certainly shouldn't be paying over the odds unless for serious (i.e. Prem-level) quality. |  |

January prices are well over the top, especially for strikers. I agree there are areas we need cover, but at what cost, we could also find a player becoming injured as changing the whole need and want process.
