Old guard getting minutes 01:04 - Jan 21 with 745 viewsGarv

Walton, Davis, Taylor, Burns, Hirst.

All playing significant minutes at the moment. Entirely plausible that they could all start the next game together.

For all we talk about the squad having been ripped apart over the last 2 summers, that's almost half our team made up of 4 of the L1 promotion team and Taylor from the Championship promotion team.

Not ground breaking information, but it just occurred to me and it's nice to see.

Poll: If forced to sell one of the following this summer, who would you sell?

They are all still good enough at this level. I think particularly Burns and Hirst are better players here than they would be anywhere else because of McKenna’s style of play. I think Chaplin is similar and still hope he comes back in this window even if it is unlikely. But Burns was excellent against Bristol City, I didn’t expect him to be the same player after the long injury but that was a good sign he might be.

They'd all laugh at me if they knew what I was trying to do. To create a new strain of super-wine in half-an-hour with a fraction of nature's resources and a FOOL for an assistant. 'Bernard Black, he's mad,' they'd say, 'he's insane, he's dangerous.' Well I'll show them! I'll show them all!

With regards to Chaplin, I think it’s obvious from McKenna’s comments last week around his loan extension is that we’ve done that, because we’re trying to get someone in and will only recall him if we fail to do so.

Poll: We’ve got super KM, he knows exactly what we need. Woolfie at the back…

At risk of labouring the point, Chappers goal involvement for the past two years has been minimal.

Love the bloke, but he's not the player he used to be, for whatever reason.

Recalling him would be similar to trying to bring back Sarmiento - let's just remember the good moments, because we're now shopping in a different league.
