Away form compared 23:05 - Jan 24 with 1042 viewsNthsuffolkblue

Coventry; Boro; Us (against themselves is the equivalent of playing us):

Brum: 2-3; N/A; 1-1 - +1; N/A
Preston: 1-1; 2-2; 0-1 - -1, -1
Brizzle: N/A; 0-2; 1-1 - N/A; +1
Boro: 4-2; N/A; 1-2 - -3; N/A
QPR: N/A; N/A; 4-1
Swansea: N/A; N/A; 4-1
Hull: N/A; 4-1; 2-0 - N/A; 0
Oxford: 2-2; 1-1; 1-2 - -1; -1
Blackburn: N/A; N/A; 1-1
Leicester: 0-0; 1-1; 1-3 - -1; -1
Millwall: 4-0; 3-0; 0-0 - -2; -2
Coventry: 0-3; N/A; 2-0 - +3; N/A
Sheff Utd: N/A; N/A; 1-3

So, in the equivalent 13 fixtures we have played, Coventry have performed 4 pts better than us and hold a 8 pt lead.

In the equivalent fixtures, Boro have performed 4 pts better than us and hold a 5 pt lead having played a game more than us.

What does that show? I have no idea but I wanted to see just how poor our away form is compared to the top two. Preston, Oxford, and Leicester each see us drop 1 pt on both. Coventry did well to win at Boro while we lost there. Millwall is the worst result according to that comparison with both of them winning well whilst we got 0-0.

The other possible takeaway is drawing instead of losing away would have made a fair difference.

Coventry have wins in the bag at Derby, Sheff Wed, Portsmouth and Stoke.
Boro have wins in the bag at nodge, Sheff Wed, Charlton, West Brom and Stoke.

Some of those are not at all easy places to go.

It kinda shows that despite how bad our away form has been if we can have a solid February we can catch up a bit to that.

Think thats the key really. Weve got more away games than home. We arent gonna win every game but we will need to win a fair few away and get some draws. If we do that and keep up our excellent home form it gives us a great chance of catching both sides.

I think at the moment. We feel positive when a PR game is coming up. You cant reallt have that feeling away yet.

Feb is a big big month

Boro: 4-2; N/A; 1-2 - -3; N/A
QPR: 1-2; N/A; 4-1 - +3; N/A
Swansea: N/A; N/A; 4-1
Hull: N/A; 4-1; 2-0 - N/A; 0

Appreciate the work you've put in but "what does that show? I have no idea" is so funny

Does it show you’ve got too much time on your hands ?

We’ve got to do better on the road; we’re giving ourselves too much to do at home.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

But does it? In the equivalent fixtures, Coventry have hardly outperformed us at all (1 pt only). Is it equally possible we have got trickier matches out of the way?

We do need to do better overall but I am hoping we have faced some tougher threats than our rivals have so far. Maybe I am clutching at straws, though.
