Taken from Stuart Watson's EADT piece:

"It's understood that the scouting team, led by new head of recruitment Mick Court, put several possible targets to manager Kieran McKenna but that the Blues boss opted not to pursue many."

Assuming that's come from the Ashton side of things, it feels a rather pointed statement. Definitely not the usual 'collective responsibility' attitude that should prevail in this sort of situation.

I don't interpret that statement negatively.

To me it suggests.

1. Kieran didn't think that a lot of the possible targets would improve the team.

2. He did think that some were worth pursuing.

Let's not start blaming people in what is always a difficult window.


The club wanted that message to go specifically out.
