| Who would your captain be? 19:14 - Feb 22 with 2002 views | Chris_ITFC | None of us actually have the required insight to really say, but I’m curious. Plenty seem to dismiss O’Shea (despite having only matchday visuals to base it on), so who would you see as a better choice? I’m curious about the criteria too. For example, would you prioritise Jack Taylor’s grit and determination, even if he doesn’t start every week. Or maybe you value Leif’s consistency of selection and performance, albeit he isn’t a naturally ‘typical’ leader (I think he’d admit). All opinions welcome! | |

If you're a leader on the pitch you'll still be the leader even if you're not wearing the armband. Bit of a distraction for me.

| Who would your captain be? on 12:27 - Feb 23 with 253 views | Reus30 | That's the biggest issue for me - lack of leaders in the dressing room full stop. In our promotion teams, we had leaders of men. Morsy, chappers, Cam, Mass, even to an extent Woolfie. Big personalities. We don't have that now and it shows. We don't have that spirit I guess of what it means to be a Town player. Even someone like having Harry Clarke in an around the team would help. DOS is our best choice for captain right now but I would have set my stool at in August and gave it to Greaves and said, right, you are our starting CB, lead us. Instead, we chop and changed and tried to player trade, at the cost of team spirit and grit. I don't know, we seem poorer than we were two years ago and I struggle to see us winning games like we did then (Southampton, Bristol C, Watford). We just don't have that in the locker. | | | |
| Who would your captain be? on 12:43 - Feb 23 with 247 views | HighgateBlue | I think of those we have at the club, O'Shea probably fits the bill best. And even more than more questions, I think this is one on which we just have to accept that Kieran is far more likely to be right on this than anyone else. I don't think O'Shea's recent wobble should put his position as captain under threat. We do still have a successful defence this season by and large. If we had a clinical finisher, I don't think Dara's position would be in question, and the fact that we don't ain't his fault. In fact he seems to have inspired his central defensive partner to be a damn sight more clinical than most of our attackers! | | | |

Unfortunately O'Shea just doesnt come across as a strong enough character to impose himself during a game, to carry the armband, for me. But we are short of true characters in the squad as a whole, as will quite possibly be evident again tomorrow at Watford , who are a right old bullying outfit..

I dunno. Im a big dara fan, but he seems to run away from physical battles and talks about them like he doesn't like them either. I also can't listen to his pre game thoughts and think braveheart moment. Us and our people was nice, but mainly because of the words, but I dunno, i kinda feel if he shouted at me to do better, i;d feel like laughing. The actual question of who to make captain is actually difficult. But I'd go with Davis. Non stop running, gives everything from the first to the last whistle. Not afraid to say how it is either.
