Could Leif play further forwards? 00:43 - Feb 25 with 1135 viewsitfc1108

I'm really impressed with Greaves at left back, and offers something different from that position, as well as extra height and robustness in both boxes.
We look a bit more secure as a defensive unit, especially away from home as well.
I love Davis, but I do think it is a little unfair, that his place, Azor's and O'Shea's is immune from the rotating/resting.
It should be all players or none. You play well, and it is your shirt to lose.

He probably could and would no doubt make a decent fist of it as he's a good footballer, but he'd taking the place of either Jack Clarke or Jaden (our most effective creative outlets) so it's a no for me.

Definitely agree with the " should be your shirt to lose " opinion. There should be no favourites in a football team. No passes for some players who perform poorly, while others pay the penalty. For me you can virtually toss a coin for the left back position. Each is better than the other in certain aspects of play.

Further forward? Are you dropping Clarke or Philogene to shoehorn him in?

I thought maybe as an alternative, to go on the outside, rather than cutting infield on the right foot all the time.
I was just saying for the sake of team spirit, i don't think it should be a given that he just comes back in the side as soon as he is fit again.
Especially if the player who comes in does well.
Maybe it's different because it was the keeper, but I thought a precedent was set with Hladky keeping his place when Walton was injured. (And now Walton with palmer).

Davis will always be first choice if fit, barring some weird tactical anomaly from McKenna.

He's still one of our most consistent performers, most assists (every season he's here?) and that left side from an attacking sense needs that partnership with Clarke/Philogene.

Greaves was good, as he was against Coventry, but you could see how uncomfortable he was when we got near their 18 yard box. Always looking to turn back, not go beyond the player or cross as Davis does.

The reason he cuts inside now instead of going on the outside is the reason Clarke and Philogene have scored as many as they have. Not sure we can risk modifying our left side tactics and possibly remove that from our game.

Greaves has done really well in the games he's played there, but I always worry that Greaves is one game away from a bad game.
