Sometimes I think about the frothing lunatics I’ve put on ignore, who will have kept replying to me again and again, but I don’t even realise they exist.

I haven’t cheated and I’ve never heard that song .. on my phone the clarity of the video and sun ⛅️ on the screen didn’t help … but … did I see Clapton, Townsend, moon , Linda McCartney, Gilmour, Phil Collins, billy Preston ?

John Bonham is the drummer. McCartney had the idea of creating a "Rockestra" whilst recording Wings' Back to the egg LP in late 78. Keith Moon was signed up to play on this too, but he sadly died in September that year. The Rockestra did actually perform a "gig" on the final night of the 4 night concert series in aid of Kampuchea (now Cambodia) in December 79. All the artists were given gold lamè suits to wear but a drunk Pete Townshend refused, leading to an onstage interaction between him and Macca where the language hasn't particularly aged well. The Who performed a blisteringly agressive set that night too, enjoying the post Moon bounce that Kenney Jones brought, but sadly that energy ran out and the band split (for the first time!) 3 years later.

I used to have that concert on VHS. And yes, John Bonham is one of the drummers. Sadly he died just 9 months later.

EDIT: Chinese Elvis isn't the original Chinese impersonator. That was Paul "Elvis" Chan who had a Chinese restaurant called Gracelands Palace on the Old Kent Road from 1988 onwards. It always made me chuckle every time I passed it.
Have you ever checked out Rough Mix, his collaboration with Townshend? They don't actually work on too many tracks together but Heart to hang on to is a joy.

Last time I saw Elvis was in my Mo in Laws retirement complex the old girls loved him singing ‘are you lonesome tonight’ when he clutched their hand bless em.
One of the people on piano looks a bit like Dave Greenfield, the keyboardist for the Stranglers.
But maybe his hair is too short, and it is unlikely that he would be invited to take part in such an august gathering.

Nope. I also mistakenly said there was a member of Deep Purple in the band. There isn't.
We just need 2 more keyboard players and one bass guitarist. Two of who were in very big bands.
