There’s a very real possibility now that New Zealand will take the spot Australia had in the Olympics going on the current qualification format, although nothing has been finalised.

India
South Africa
Great Britain (England and Wales ,Scotland and Northern Irish Ireland players eligible )
West Indian representative/Canada ( decided by a tournament )
USA (host)
It’s based on the IOC wanting a top ranked member of each Olympic ring (region) and the hosts of course.
If USA don’t get accepted ( which is a possibility due to their standard ) they may have a world playoff tournament for that final spot.
The ICC by bending over for the IOC with this qualification scenario would be hoping for a change in subsequent editions re. Quantity of teams especially as Brisbane and possibly Ahmedabad would follow as summer Olympics. |  |

We’ve got a really handy long tail now and Brook now at 3 is a blessing and any lower and it’s a waste. | |

This was the game to tinker really, there's probably a case for dropping Bethell also and maybe dropping Buttler down to about five | |
