| My favourite bit of today, which I think sums up what I like about our 19:42 - Feb 28 with 1184 views | homer_123 | football as much as anything. Mehmeti - after a poor free kick delivery and then subsequent poor cross, then recovers, and chases down the Swansea defender and wins a ball he doesn't have a right to, promptly delivers a cross for Hirst to tidily slot away. It's that attitude off the ball, having not quite delivered on the two crosses. Head doesn't drop, back on it straight away, doing the hard work off the ball and it pays off. As good as we are with the ball at times - it's the stuff like the above which will mean the different between play-offs and automatics. It's the same with Nunez - some lovely touches today but he works hard for the team. I love this about our recruitment - yes, frustrating at times as it does seem to take us a little while to get players in but you can, absolutely, see why we don't 'just sign anyone'. They have to be the right player. Mehmeti is looking like a very, very astute piece of business. | |

He's a lot better than I thought he was when we signed him I have to be honest. Technically I knew he was very capable but I wrongly thought he was another quite lightweight and slightly 'luxury'. More in the sense I could see him being good when we are in too but not contributing in battles. I think it came from being a bit of the Bristol City DNA in recent years. He's combative, has real desire in games and his career and he's got the technical ability to hurt teams dribbling and with a pass. Really like him. I hope to be honest Clarke and Philogene really take that on themselves with his example. In fairness Philogene has got better and that side. With Clarke its not a lack of trying but he's not very brave and he can be quite powderpuff out of possession. If he could add the defensive stuff he'd be a top player.

I think Clarke has massively improved that side of his game, personally. Today he was hassling to get the ball back on quite a few occasions and physically looks more the part this year. I thought he had an excellent cameo today. He’s a real talent.
