We seem to have coaches atbthus club gur just about every aspect of the game yet we are so one dimensional its untrue. Leicester like so many before them had the measure of McKenna and his tactiC. Minimal variation or change in approach until far too late in the game. Leicester were 2 yards quicker than us all over the pitch for most of the game....

I'm surprised we never play them to the man on the edge of the box, especially with the embarrassment of riches that we have in terms of players who can curl one in from that sort of range. |
because youre inevitably then trying to thread the ball through the eye of a needle with so many players crowding the area, teams rarely it seems bother putting anyone on the halfway line incase the ball breaks.
so youve got 10 of them packed in like sardines, youve got at least 8 of our side packed in there too, it only needs a leg, a knee, a foot, a head and the ball will deflect, usually away from goal. plus they dont push up anymore straight away to try to catch you offside. so even if you get a second bite you still cant find the space. and theyre back line were noticeably taller than alot of our players, so had the height advantage as well for headers.
thats why our corners are so ineffective, why theres were too, infact most games corners rarely amount to much now.
I thought we had a couple of good corners for a change, ball dropped in some good spots, just werent able to finish it, I was just disappointed when we had the chance to try something different, we actually did just retake almost the exact same attempt of a corner that had created some panic in their back line, but they knew who exactly to mark then, so the 2nd came to nothing | | | |
