| Massive over the top reaction on here with this Farage visit 12:07 - Mar 24 with 3629 views | IP1Blue | It’s been made very clear that there is no official involvement from ITFC. It was a privately booked tour through Reform, the club was left in a very difficult position. The posts and polls saying TWTD are defending the club is a disgrace and asking Ashton to resign/sacked over this, also outrageous. Would there be outrage and the same posts/polls if this was the greens and Zach Polanski, labour and Kier Starmer, conservatives and Kemi Badenoch? You can’t say we’re inclusive to all and then alienate the party who is leading the polls and are projected to win 50/70 seats in the Suffolk council elections in May. Even if there politics are ones you disagree with and may I add, politics I don’t agree with. I’ve seen posts saying this alienates 60% of the base and if any of them leaders that I mentioned were here, would also alienate 60% of the fan base, it’s no different, only a difference of opinion. The majority of green, labour and reform voters, funnily enough have the same issues - struggling to pay rent, dealing with inflation etc etc but where the issues remain in opinion is by the cause of said issues and also the solution. If you can find common ground in the issues, I can guarantee in 80% of convos with people you can the solution and the cause. All of this is driven by media and divisive politics - if that is how someone absorbs there news then it’s no surprise that is how they view the issues, it’s up to people like us to explain why they’re wrong and how that form of media is biased - help to educate people. Just calling people racist and bigoted will only add fuel to the fire. Here is Gary Stevenson talking about it which sums it up brilliantly - https://shorturl.at/clJXE I’d argue a lot of people on this forum who regularly post about their politics fuel the divisive political discussions on here and rarely engage in constructive debate on all sides of the spectrum. There’s around 6/7 posters on either sides who just call each other names and waiting for either side to make a post before jumping on it and having the same argument over and over again. People have jumped the gun massively here and if people really thought the club was involved in an official capacity, need to give there head a wobble. Do you honestly think a football club would align politically with a party in today’s world especially in an area like Suffolk, where political views are quite split? | | | | |

I think the club were suckered by the way it was done and there was no good way to withdraw. I'm not sure how to protect from this type of ambush.

You come out the morning when the pictures are published, saying that the club dont endorse reform, were not involved in the photos or video, and object to the use of the club's identity being used for political purposes of any kind. Its not difficult.

Do some flippin research before allowing the booking to go ahead & ask the contact who they're booking for? Could have been even worse - think EDL. Yaxley wotsit, Amdrew Tate etc.
