Why ITFC? 22:08 - Mar 24 with 881 viewssyntaxerror

Clearly this is a political stunt Farage has pulled, to get maximum mileage.
It’s straight out of his divide and conquer playbook.

So why us?
We are a family club, didn’t buy into the NF stuff in the 80s like other fanbases did.
Ipswich is a marginal seat, sometimes Tory, sometimes Labour. A clear target for Reform.
We probably don’t have the most developed media team.
Football fans, especially the hoolie element, are often used as pawns by the far right.
Perhaps he hoped for a ITFC cancelled me reaction, which would have had even more traction media wise.

Our culture has been abused, and this was naive but a no win situation for us.

He could have chosen any other club, some with far more right wing sympathies amongst their fan base.
But he chose us,

Why?

Do GB news have a football pundit?

They were probably all sensible enough to tell him to fook off, while we appear desperate to stick our tongue up the arse of anyone who has a bit of a following.

I can't see what it gains him or the club.

Fans of other clubs will be alienated by it.

Those fans of Town who are not supporters of his will be offended by the club doing it.

Who does it attract to either side? I guess it gives Farage more publicity amongst the demographic he is seeking to appeal to that's about it.

Ipswich a winnable target is I think one big reason. Not just a marginal, but plenty of disillusioned conservatives, and a relatively recent influx of migrants.

Or maybe it's simply because he could, via a 'friend' at the club who gave him a foot in?

I wonder how many Town fans are now thinking they will vote for nige because he is clearly a Town fan. Perhaps they can be pointed towards Delia in her Town scarf at the FA Cup Final.

Other clubs will now be on the defensive, especially those with a bigger far right support base.
He can now play the victim card if they don’t let him in.

Expect him at Luton soon (with apologies to Luton fans who don’t support SYL or Farage).
