Not that he’ll be told about it

No wonder he respects Putin so much. They are identical.

Truly impaired.

Ffs Americans, why are you not out on the streets demanding the end of this Epstein regime? How are they all so placid towards this?

Once the body bags start filling up how the population will turn on Trump utter madness.

They don’t have nearly enough troops deployed to be contemplating a ground invasion of Iran. The US had around half a million deployed for the invasion of Iraq against a much weaker opponent. I think Kharg is a likely target being an island and huge oil export hub. The numbers of US forces being moved to the region are not indicative of a boots on the ground operation unless it’s a limited scope like Kharg (airborne and seaborne units make this look even more likely to me).

That would allow them to cut off an huge chunk of Iranian regime funding and have significant leverage in any negotiations.

I've lived here in the USA for a quarter of a century around the tourism industry of central Florida. I can honestly say that I haven't really seen/heard of any opposition against what's going on.

One of Trump's most sycophantic supporters was trying to claim that taking Kharg wasn't "boots on the ground" as a defence to him being accused of lying.

It's Iranian soil, it is 'ground', so it is a pathetic argument frankly.

They have also set out that they need $2bn (a day!) to open up the Strait of Hormuz. Something that was open without spending $2bn a day just 10 days ago.

It's a shit show

Think that guy would do well to listen to a song recorded by " Country Joe McDonald and The Fish " released in 1967, called " Feel like I'm Fixing To Die - Rag ". Seems like 59 years later, it's message needs to be heard in the Whitehouse.

Plus it’s simple. They have won. It’s just Iran who don’t recognise they’ve lost. Apparently.

So many lies on this war, Trump is clearly losing support in America, more so when the price of gasoline goes up. I remember during the financial crash a lot of US companies had to give staff a one-off payment so they could afford to put fuel in their vehicles, because staff said we cannot come into work without it. That one item, put the US government under incredible pressure, the same will happen again

Although not sure who to believe these days re this war. Iran yesterday claimed Trump was negotiating with himself and then 2 hours later admitted they had supplied a list of 5 points for the basis of ending the war.

But I guess both sides are trying to make it look like they have the upper hand.

Thought it was interesting one of Iran's 5 points was protection for its leaders, clearly Trump is right on that one single item, they are shitting themselves that Iranian forces are incapable of protecting them. Which is very funny considering how they've made millions of their own citizens live in fear every day for years, total karma.

Will be interesting if Israel listen to this latest positioning. Fairly widely believed that Netanyahu doesn't want peace, but obliteration of Iran.

"Israel has reportedly taken Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, and the Iranian parliament speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, off its hit list after Pakistan requested the US not to target them, according to Reuters news agency, citing a source from Islamabad with knowledge of the matter.

Araghchi had been heading Iran’s delegation in nuclear talks with the US and is one of Iran’s most experienced diplomats, while Ghalibaf is supposedly seen by some in the White House as a workable partner.

“The Israelis had their coordinates and wanted to take them out, we told the US if they are also eliminated then there is no one else to talk to, hence the US asked the Israelis to back off,” the Pakistani source was quoted as saying by Reuters"

I wasn’t debating the semantics of it - just that it would be a limited operation compared to a full scale invasion ‘in Iran’. But whilst it would choke off the regimes finances it wouldn’t guarantee safe passage for shipping. Currently Iran are operating a shadow fleet with transponders off to export oil and gas from there.

At the moment it’s a long way from any likelihood of Hormuz being opened up to international shipping Iran still controlling access and there are reports of Indian and Chinese linked ships paying for ‘safe passage’. Both India and China have been outbidding each other for LNG shipments (up to 5 times spot price!) with some being redirected so we are already seeing tensions rise and fears around inventories running low and potential rationing in the not too distant future.

It’s somewhat strange that he’s asked for international assistance to police the waters, whilst at the same time claiming to have won militarily…

Lindsey Graham said Kharg could be Trump's Iwo Jima.

Iwo Jima killed 7,000 US soldiers and injured 20,000.

They are just fundamentally stupid/evil.

You would like to think there would be some pushback from their military, a siege to block exports would make more sense but even then moving so many naval assets into the area is a huge risk for the US - this is a conflict Iran have prepared for for decades.

The US is largely self sufficient in oil and gas in terms of energy security, and ironically the price uplift has helped some of their struggling smaller producers, but surely he can’t continue to cause so much wider economic damage before his base turns.

Would any leader sit through a highlights real of exclusively the unsuccessful
Attempts? Genuine question .., they wouldn’t would they, no leader, ever, in history did that.

Yeah .., can I just see what we missed please?

What an odd attack line, I bet the fragile ego narrative, but this isn’t that. It’s low rent propaganda, and the lack of self awareness is far more terrifying than Trump.

Wherever the US troops land, they will be in a kill-zone.
Trump has telegraphed the plans via social media and press conferences.
Think about the diversions and secrecy surrounding the D-Day landings.
They were successful because we had the element of surprise.
Trump will blame everyone but himself.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

Ah yes, but Ronald T Dump & Pee Hogsbreath have come up with a cunning plan to hit the Iranians where they least expect it by landing on the beaches of Normandy, rather than the Pas de Calais.

"Nobody's ever come up with such a cunning plan before, in the whole history of the world... etc."

That'll fox 'em!
