That sounds about right. Thankfully, all the Apple products I’ve had have just worked. I’ve still got two old 27” iMacs from 2012 still going strong that the kids now use for homework and we have as general machines for internet and streaming. They’re no games machines, but fly through everything else still. Not bad for 14 year old bits of kit. Can’t get iOS updates now though; it’s only going to be software compatibility that will eventually lead me to scrap them. You can’t mess much with Apple stuff, but for plug and play stuff they’re great. |  |

For what type of screen? I had to pay £750 for a replacement screen for my macbook pro 3 years ago after I stupidly forgot to renew my apple care policy.
I now make sure that apple care is up to date on all my devices.
If it is an iPad screen then you are as well going to a somebody who has an independent phone shop. My sister in law replaced her screen for less than £100. It does invalidate the warranty though. |  |

I had a bill for £750 for a Samsung S9 screen repair. Thankfully it was
a work phone and they picked up the bill, which in itself might explain part of the cost. |  |

Right to repair laws are pretty toothless in this country and don't even apply to phones or laptops.
Annoyingly the EU had a chance to actually fix this specific issue around screen repairs and caved at the last minute. |  |
