We struggled to break the press today and both Matusiwa and Neil were really poor first 60 mins (appreciate Azor might have a knock). However we've then taken both them off for attacking options and brought Nunez back on his own and looked even more lost. Surely a Taylor or Cajuste makes more sense than having Akpom and Mehmeti? The team just looks top heavy and generated nothing.
I think we also got it wrong starting Kipre who has looked suspect and not just replacing Leif with Johnson.
Obviously we still conceded 2 really cheap goals, but a bit like Scum at the weekend, had 65% possession and created nothing.

It all seemed very desperate, like we were just throwing every attacker on and hoping for the best. We could’ve played all night and not scored, just passing it sideways and created nothing.

McKenna will have clocked early in the second half that we were so abject we could play all night and get nothing, so just used the subs to minutes in the legs of players. If he wanted to properly chase the game, he would've brought Cajuste on for Hirst so we don't go 4-1-5, or even Azon earlier in the second like he usually does. He also substituted Furlong, which there would be no reason to do, other than to save him for Sunday. [Post edited 14 Apr 22:01]

Obvious in the first half we just couldn't get the ball past their midfield quick enough. Too much slow sideways and backwards passing. Either play 3 in midfield or another striker.
