Why can't I work out where that road sign is. I can't find a logical place for it apart from on the A143, and I don't think it's there.

North of Norwich, perhaps? That's the only location I can think of where you'd use the A140 to get to all destinations from the same direction.

Or it could be the A47 around Norwich? It looks like a dual carriageway, and the Norwich southern bypass is the only D/C I can think of that intersects with the A140 where that sign would make sense.

I suppose so. I just couldn't imagine that the highways people up there would allow Ipswich to be on top like that. I suppose they know their place though.

Maybe the signwriter's a Town fan?

I would imagine it is because the A140 is the direct route to Ipswich as a final destination hence the main place. Diss is then a secondary destination but it is also one of several accesses to Norwich from that road. If you wanted to access Norwich via the A140 the logical thing to say would be take the A140 Ipswich turning as there are multiple Norwich ones off that road.
