| Timo Werner 16:38 - May 9 with 2006 views | Nutkins_Return | Wouldn't be against getting him in the cheap. Just needs to be loved and a bigger player in a side. Was a regular 20-30 goal a season many in the bundesliga. Scored a fair few for Chelsea but couldn't establish himself up against good competition. Horrendously utilised by Spurs as a wide man. Get him back up front running in behind on the counter. He's found form again recently. I imagine he wouldn't cost big money and experienced head now. | |

What about that ex utd striker. Hoyland or something. Did he go out on loan and start scoring again or was he sold. Cant remember his name.

He’s at Napoli and they’re signing him for about £40m

Oh behave yourself. There are levels. He scored 95 in 159 at bundesliga level for RB Leipzig and was one of the most sought after striker in Europe. He has 17 champions league goals. He is absolutely not comparable to Ivan Azon in front of goal. The problem he had was being asked to do jobs that aren't his skillset for Chelsea and Spurs. Like at RB you make him a main man through the middle and it would completely suit him playing more on the counter. People thinking we are above Werner is a bit daft to be honest.

At Prem level, I think you’re bang on with Timo - and I’m a bit of a fan his.

Well I'm sorry but from what I have seen of him in the Premier League he's just not lethal enough. But as we have seen this last season you can bring in two former golden boot winners and they can't get half a dozen goals between them. Getting the right type in is difficult. I would like to see a player brought in that runs off the back of the centre forward. Azon did many flick ons, but nobody was running in behind. Delap was left up front on his own and it didn't work. We need to not make the same mistakes again. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

A yes for me you don't play almost 60 games for Germany without having something about you.

What you say at the end is exactly why I would like to see him. Has the pedigree and exactly what he used to to at RB. Different profile that we need. Fantastic pace to stretch teams on the counter. A really good outlet and he works hard. He didn't do ok at Chelsea and didn't do much at Spurs. But anyone could see he's not a wide player. Madness from them.

That's the case with so many strikers. It's more that he is a rhythm player. He was absolutely deadly for RB. He's didn't suit bits and pieces here and there for Chelsea (and just being shoved out on the left for Spurs.
