We are only aligned/associated/defined if we allow ourselves to be and take the bait. It is what they want. Starve them of the oxygen of publicity and they go away. You, me, tens of 1000s are not associated with them and neither are the vast majority of players and staff. Or sponsors come to that, who I suspect will be a key factor in what happens next. I’ve said many times I believe the upper structure will change this summer in my view, hopefully to progress the football club, not to its detriment. |
Your posts are very considered but I also feel a little naive about the power of social media. It's one of the key reasons Reform have become so popular so quickly. You can't just dismiss it because you can see how transparent it is. Others can't. [Post edited 10 May 1:01]

An interesting point. I do dismiss social media for its transparency and outright lies and manipulation. But I am aware of the power of it but have no true solution. I see the only way forward being immediate refute, open debate and exposure. But there are times when letting situations blow themselves out might be the least worse way forward. If you take authoritarians and totalitarians including Trump and Putin what do they do first? Shut down freedom of speech, debate and control the narrative. I see labelling and abuse as no real solution. Untangling this is the simple point that a football club’s involvement in politics should go no further than good relations with those in power to achieve an end like planning permission. That’s it.

| I see reform are continuing to use the club to sow division on 00:54 - May 10 by Churchman | You are being abusive - again. Is there a reason why you cannot be polite towards a fellow poster who is just as entitled to give their opinion as you? And for the record I do know how many died fighting the Axis powers. One of them was an air gunner in 50 Squadron by the name of JH Matthews. His aircraft took part in an attack on two Battlecruisers Scharnhorst and Gneisenau berthed in Brest in March 1941. Returning from the attack the damaged aircraft, a Handley Page Hampden, suddenly rolled and dived into the sea off the Scily Isles. The crew of four is remembered on the Runnymede Memorial. He was a relation of mine. |
I wasn't replying to you. Yes, I'll abuse someone suggesting I'm claiming to be unique for having a WWII casualty when I point out mine. F**k you.

I was responding to another poster and I don’t know what ‘running an alt account’ means. Please don’t bother explaining. As for cocking up, still no idea what you mean, but this ‘old boy’ does that all the time. Sadly I have to leave perfection to others.

I love the idea of people downvoting factual posts, as you say it might not be nice, but it's factual

That’s if people like it or not. Some people won’t admit it either. I wonder if Ashton played a blinder here, inviting the future PM of Blighty for a bit of nose bag.
