Middlesbrough's recent play off woes 08:59 - May 15 with 630 viewsGeoffSentence

You have to feel for Middlesbrough. In recent years they have some pretty turbulent play off experiences.

Suing Derby because Derby broke financial rules which may have helped them into the play offs at the expense of Boro.

Their team bus was held up on the way to the final against Norwich and they arrived minutes before the game was due to kick off. On top of that, though not having any sporting impact Middlesbrough was spelled incorrectly in the tickets.

Now we have these shenanighans.

Steve Gibson must have done something naughty in a former life to get all this thrown at his team.

Don't boil a kettle on a boat.

This season their failure to go up automatically is simply down to them and their seemingly over reliance on one player.

I don't think losing Hackney was the key, it was the lack of ability to turn possession into good chances andthen into goals, for whatever reason. That was happening before Hackney was injured.

Boro had 783 shots compared to Cov's 751 and our 693, yet scored only 73 goals vs 97 and 80 respectively.

Or they could have just found 2 wins at home out of these games to simplify things!

Oxford
Leicester
Charlton
Bristol City
Pompey
