Scott Hastings: RIP 09:05 - May 18 with 590 viewsDJR

Very sad to hear of his passing. A great player for both Scotland and the British Lions.

And very sad for his children who lost their mother two years ago.

Fantastic player and man. I worked with somebody years ago who knew him and he really was.

RIP Mr Hastings.

Very sad, he was only 61.

He was a Watsonian, like my father, so I had always followed him and his brother.

His last years must have been very challenging given the earlier suicide of his wife. R.I.P Scott Hastings.

Very sad news, didn't he die on his Wife's Birthday as well?

I was at Murrayfield for that match in 1990, seems wrong to see players from that game starting to disappear.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

The great Bill McClaren once described centres Sean Lineen and Scott Hastings as ' bobbing up and down like demented prairie dogs'.
